On Thursday last, in glorious sunshine, the COPE Foundation, Midleton, held their annual Coffee Morning at their centre at Broomfield, Midleton. As usual, there were plenty of things to purchase – many of them crafted, cooked and created by COPE’s residents and day centre visitors. The Midleton & District News was particularly impressed with the beautiful jars of flowers, potted plants, herbs and spices, which had all been cultivated at COPE Midleton.
But it wasn’t just about cups of coffee and chat at COPE last Thursday, it was also a chance to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported COPE Midleton’s fundraising initiative to purchase a new vehicle for the centre.
The 161C VW Caddy was unveiled for all to see, generating much excitement, and will be of vital benefit to all at COPE. It will serve a dual purpose: used for social trips and necessary appointments, as and when needed. The VW Caddy can seat three residents, plus a driver, as well as a wheelchair.
Thank you to everyone who helped the COPE Foundation, Midleton realise their dream of a perfect, fit-for-purpose vehicle for all those who benefit from COPE’s tremendous work on a daily basis.
