Carrigtwohill United win The Corinthian Cup in a tight game at Turners Cross


On 6th June, Carrigtwohill United played out an epic cup tie against Cathedral Celtic in Turners Cross. The city side are playing a division higher than Carrigtwohill, but this did not seem to have any bearing on the match, as the sizeable crowd was treated to a highly entertaining cup tie.


Those present on the night, we treated to a ‘goal of a lifetime’ scored by Phil Wade. After controlling a defensive clearance skilfully, he volleyed the ball from all of 45 yards which flew into the top corner of the net beating the despairing dive of the Cathedral goalkeeper.
