‘It was September 2017, and we were heading into the dark evenings, when a friend asked if we would be interested in forming a book club,’ says Louise Carey from Castlemartyr.
Little did she know that – a year and a half later – along with Paula Lynch, she’d be say on the ‘Today Show’ couch, chatting with Daithi, Maura and George Lee, as part of the show’s Book Club feature.
With a group of friends in Castlemartyr, the ‘Reading between the Wines’ book club was born (we’ve no doubt they raised their glasses once or twice that first night in celebration!)
A group of 12 like-minded ladies, aged between 35 and 50, ‘Reading between the Wines’ meets once every eight weeks to review a book. Each book night is hosted by one of the group and, as the name suggests, there’s leisurely conversation, a discussion of the group’s current book and a nice glass of red or white.
