Preliminary works have begun in Killeagh and Castlemartyr to facilitate the installation of footbridges at busy traffic spots in the two villages, writes Christy Parker.

The €450,000 scheme will see one footbridge installed across the River Dissour in Killeagh and two across the Kiltha at either side of the street in Castlemartyr.

The works, funded by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), will be conducted under a single contract by Blarney-based Cumnor Construction Ltd.
